The 2023 property tax values will be coming out shortly, May 1. As we all know our assessed values have gone up but to help offset the enormous increase in values the county is going to decrease the mill levy. This will help a bit but more can be done.
As an example: If your home value previously was $500,000 and has gone up to $700,000, your annual property tax increase will still be over $1,000 or over $100/month.
I would suggest writing to your local legislators to decrease the mill levy even further.
