Property taxes for 2013 that were paid this year were based on what your home would have sold for on June 30, 2012. Our taxes didn’t increase much then because the home values had lost value up until that time. Next spring when we pay 2014 taxes will be a different matter because home values as of June 30, 2014 have increased dramatically throughout Jefferson County.
